It achieved a price of GBP 900.00 (€ 1,317.72), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 29%. Admittedly, works by John McLean have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Coterie in March 2007 with an auction result of GBP 4,320.00 (€ 6,358.55).

Die Arbeit Five plates, from Mountjoy Suite von John McLean kam im April 2007 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 900,00 (€ 1.317,72) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 29%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John McLean auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Coterie im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.320,00 (€ 6.358,55).
