Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in London held the auction Scottish and Sporting Pictures, which included the work Glen Affaric, 'Th'Incesant Roar Of Headlong Tumbling Floods' Robert Burns by John MacWhirter. It changed hands for a price of GBP 6,600.00 (€ 9,756.54) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 5,000.00 – 7,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John MacWhirter - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Exile's Garden, which sold at auction in May 2019 for GBP 18,812.00 (€ 21,294.06).

Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Scottish and Sporting Pictures durch, in der auch die Arbeit Glen Affaric, 'Th'Incesant Roar Of Headlong Tumbling Floods' Robert Burns von John MacWhirter zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 6.600,00 (€ 9.756,54) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 7.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John MacWhirter mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Exile's Garden beobachtet, die im Mai 2019 für GBP 18.812,00 (€ 21.294,06) versteigert wurde.
