Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2021 a collector was able to acquire the work Imbrium by John Geoffrey Caruthers Little for USD 1,008.00 (€ 872.58). This price was achieved in the auction Contemporary Art at Sothebys in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Geoffrey Caruthers Little achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Tropic of Cancer in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 74,978.58).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2021 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Imbrium von John Geoffrey Caruthers Little für USD 1.008,00 (€ 872,58) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Contemporary Art bei Sothebys in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Geoffrey Caruthers Little erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Tropic of Cancer im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 74.978,58).
