In November 2012 Sothebys in Toronto held the auction Important Canadian Art, which included the work Rue Henri Julien Entre Rachel Et Marie Anne, Montreal by John Geoffrey Caruthers Little. Here, the upper estimate of CAD 15,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for CAD 15,600.00 (€ 12,073.51). Admittedly, works by John Geoffrey Caruthers Little have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Tropic of Cancer in May 2018 with an auction result of USD 87,500.00 (€ 74,978.58).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im November 2012 führte Sothebys in Toronto die Auktion Important Canadian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Rue Henri Julien Entre Rachel Et Marie Anne, Montreal von John Geoffrey Caruthers Little zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von CAD 15.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für CAD 15.600,00 (€ 12.073,51) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Geoffrey Caruthers Little auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Tropic of Cancer im Mai 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 87.500,00 (€ 74.978,58).
