It achieved a price of GBP 896.25 (€ 1,268.44), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 28%. Admittedly, works by John Leech have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Mr Briggs Taming A Colt Which He Has Bred Himself in November 2008 with an auction result of GBP 4,500.00 (€ 5,440.84).

Die Arbeit A fresh morning, Dublin Bay von John Leech kam im Dezember 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 896,25 (€ 1.268,44) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 28%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Leech auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Mr Briggs Taming A Colt Which He Has Bred Himself im November 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.500,00 (€ 5.440,84).
