Auction result well in line with expectations
The work 'Pretty Sight, Ain'T It, Charley, To See The Youngsters Enjoying Themselves?' by John Leech was auctioned at Sothebys in Olympia in November 2006. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,603.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Leech - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Mr Briggs Taming A Colt Which He Has Bred Himself, which sold at auction in November 2008 for GBP 4,500.00 (€ 5,440.84).
