The work Study of the Parrot Fish by John La Farge was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2011. The auction ended at the price of USD 60,000.00 (€ 44,599.72), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John La Farge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 2,096,000.00 (€ 2,410,858.06).

Die Arbeit Study of the Parrot Fish von John La Farge kam im November 2011 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 44.599,72) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John La Farge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.096.000,00 (€ 2.410.858,06).
