Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Water-Lilies. Red and Green Pads. Study from Nature by John La Farge was auctioned at Christies in New York in January this year. It achieved a price of USD 123,480.00 (€ 113,722.60), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 23%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John La Farge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 2,096,000.00 (€ 2,410,858.06).

Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 123.480,00 (€ 113.722,60) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 23%. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John La Farge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.096.000,00 (€ 2.410.858,06).
