Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2012 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Irving Barker House, Paradise Hills by John La Farge. It changed hands for a price of USD 13,750.00 (€ 10,695.40) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John La Farge achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 2,096,000.00 (€ 2,410,858.06).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2012 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Irving Barker House, Paradise Hills von John La Farge zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 13.750,00 (€ 10.695,40) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John La Farge erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.096.000,00 (€ 2.410.858,06).
