In May 2016 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Hollyhocks by John La Farge. The »bidding war« ended at USD 1,145,000.00 (€ 1,028,289.18), 43% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John La Farge - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks, which sold at auction in November 2000 for USD 2,096,000.00 (€ 2,410,858.06).

Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Hollyhocks von John La Farge zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 1.145.000,00 (€ 1.028.289,18) und damit 43% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John La Farge mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks beobachtet, die im November 2000 für USD 2.096.000,00 (€ 2.410.858,06) versteigert wurde.
