Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2016 Christies in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Bowl of Flowers by John La Farge. Here, the upper estimate of USD 300,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 341,000.00 (€ 306,241.58). Admittedly, works by John La Farge have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks in November 2000 with an auction result of USD 2,096,000.00 (€ 2,410,858.06).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2016 führte Christies in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bowl of Flowers von John La Farge zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von USD 300.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für USD 341.000,00 (€ 306.241,58) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John La Farge auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Last Valley--Paradise Rocks im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 2.096.000,00 (€ 2.410.858,06).
