Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work Rockscape II by Humphrey Spender for GBP 288.00 (€ 420.72). This price was achieved in the auction 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Humphrey Spender achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sails At Rab in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,967.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Rockscape II von Humphrey Spender für GBP 288,00 (€ 420,72) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion 20TH CENTURY BRITISH ART bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Humphrey Spender erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sails At Rab im März 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.967,18).
