Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction 20th Century British & Irish Art, which included the work General Life: Fountain No. 1 by John Hubbard. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,020.00 (€ 1,501.32) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Hubbard achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Shah Nameh Landscape overall, in two parts in September 2020 with an auction result of GBP 20,062.50 (€ 22,122.17).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2007 führte Sothebys in Olympia die Auktion 20th Century British & Irish Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit General Life: Fountain No. 1 von John Hubbard zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.020,00 (€ 1.501,32) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Hubbard erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Shah Nameh Landscape overall, in two parts im September 2020 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.062,50 (€ 22.122,17).
