Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction American Art, which included the work Spring by John Henry Twachtman. The price achieved of USD 68,750.00 (€ 61,230.85) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 60,000.00 – 80,000.00. Admittedly, works by John Henry Twachtman have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Hemlocks in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 600,000.00 (€ 445,997.18).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion American Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Spring von John Henry Twachtman zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 68.750,00 (€ 61.230,85) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 60.000,00 – 80.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Henry Twachtman auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Hemlocks im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 600.000,00 (€ 445.997,18).
