This work of art by John Henry Twachtman could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2015 for an unexpectedly low price. In the American Paintings, Drawings & Sculpture auction, the work Portrait Of Mrs. Twachtman And Her Son Godfrey changed hands for USD 27,500.00 (€ 24,637.16) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Henry Twachtman achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Hemlocks in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 600,000.00 (€ 445,997.18).
