Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Henry Campbell could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Irish Pictures auction, the work View of Coleraine and the bank of the river Bann, Co. Antrim changed hands for GBP 940.00 (€ 1,508.35) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Henry Campbell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An extensive wooded landscape, Co. Wicklow. in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14).
