Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In May 2004 Christies in London held the auction THE IRISH SALE, which included the work Dublin Bay from the Martello Tower, Howth by John Henry Campbell. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 2,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 2,031.50 (€ 3,048.00). Admittedly, works by John Henry Campbell have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work An extensive wooded landscape, Co. Wicklow. in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Mai 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion THE IRISH SALE durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dublin Bay from the Martello Tower, Howth von John Henry Campbell zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 2.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 2.031,50 (€ 3.048,00) einen neuen Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Henry Campbell auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit An extensive wooded landscape, Co. Wicklow. im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 11.750,00 (€ 19.699,14).
