Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work Figures on horseback in an extensive landscape, with cattle and sheep beside a river by John Henry Campbell for GBP 1,250.00 (€ 1,312.86). This price was achieved in the auction Christie's Interiors at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Henry Campbell achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An extensive wooded landscape, Co. Wicklow. in May 2001 with an auction result of GBP 11,750.00 (€ 19,699.14).
