Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art, which included the work August III, 1959 by John Harrison Levee. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 15,120.00 (€ 12,875.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by John Harrison Levee have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2021 the work without title was auctioned for USD 16,380.00 (€ 14,179.36).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit August III, 1959 von John Harrison Levee zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 15.120,00 (€ 12.875,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von John Harrison Levee konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2021 die Arbeit ohne Titel für USD 16.380,00 (€ 14.179,36) versteigert.
