Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work By the burn by John Hamilton Glass was sold in the British, Victorian and Scottish Pictures auction at Christies in London in March 2003. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 352.50 (€ 510.64), 18% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Hamilton Glass achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Golden retrievers and a terrier in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,479.36).
