Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In February 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work Sheep grazing beside a river in a wooded landscape by John Hamilton Glass. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 500.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 517.50 (€ 846.85). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Hamilton Glass achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Golden retrievers and a terrier in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,479.36).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Februar 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Sheep grazing beside a river in a wooded landscape von John Hamilton Glass zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 500,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 517,50 (€ 846,85) einen neuen Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Hamilton Glass erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Golden retrievers and a terrier im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.479,36).
