In August 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work On the east coast at Dysart by John Hamilton Glass. The result of GBP 1,000.00 (€ 1,240.03) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by John Hamilton Glass have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Golden retrievers and a terrier in December 2011 with an auction result of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,479.36).
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im August 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit On the east coast at Dysart von John Hamilton Glass zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 1.000,00 (€ 1.240,03) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Hamilton Glass auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Golden retrievers and a terrier im Dezember 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.479,36).
