The work 'Yes, Columbus Did Discover America!', San Francisco, 1938 by John Gutmann was sold in the The American Landscape, Black and White Photographs from The Collection of Bruce and Nancy Berman auction at Christies in New York in October 2011. The price achieved of USD 3,125.00 (€ 2,240.63) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00.
