Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Golding could be acquired at Christies in London in March 2009 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century British Art including The Olga Davenport Collection auction, the work G(B.E.)XI changed hands for GBP 625.00 (€ 673.97) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Golding achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work G.(R.F.) I in November 2019 with an auction result of GBP 16,250.00 (€ 19,081.47).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Golding konnte im März 2009 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century British Art including The Olga Davenport Collection wechselte die Arbeit G(B.E.)XI für GBP 625,00 (€ 673,97) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Golding erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit G.(R.F.)
