This artwork by John Frederick Lewis achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in London in July 2017. In the Old Master & British Works on Paper auction, the work Ploughing At Kom-Ombo, Egypt sold for GBP 27,500.00 (€ 30,685.78) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Frederick Lewis achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Midday Meal, Cairo in June 2005 with an auction result of GBP 2,472,000.00 (€ 3,663,660.11).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Frederick Lewis erzielte im Juli 2017 bei Sothebys in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master & British Works on Paper wurde die Arbeit Ploughing At Kom-Ombo, Egypt für GBP 27.500,00 (€ 30.685,78) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 15.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Frederick Lewis erzielen.
