Auction result well in line with expectations
The work General Chassé by John Ferneley, Jnr. was sold in the Interiors: Fine Art Online auction at Christies in New York in June 2019. The price achieved of USD 1,250.00 (€ 1,106.10) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ferneley, Jnr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Full Cry: Captain White hunting with the Quorn, with Hoby Church and Brooksby Hall in the distance in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 35,850.00 (€ 38,387.41).
