Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2013 Christies in London held the auction Sporting and Wildlife Art, which included the work A Groom With A Dark Bay And A Grey Hunter by John Ferneley, Jnr.. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,793.33) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Ferneley, Jnr. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Full Cry: Captain White hunting with the Quorn, with Hoby Church and Brooksby Hall in the distance in May 2002 with an auction result of USD 35,850.00 (€ 38,387.41).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2013 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting and Wildlife Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Groom With A Dark Bay And A Grey Hunter von John Ferneley, Jnr. zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.250,00 (€ 3.793,33) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Ferneley, Jnr. erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Full Cry: Captain White hunting with the Quorn, with Hoby Church and Brooksby Hall in the distance im Mai 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.850,00 (€ 38.387,41).
