Auction result well in line with expectations
The work First Bloom Of Youth (Recto), Sketch For The Soldier'S Return - Robert Burns (Verso) by John Faed was sold in the The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street auction at Sothebys in London in February 2019. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 8,750.00 (€ 10,207.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Faed achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boyhood, 1849 in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 237,650.00 (€ 346,961.50).

Die Arbeit First Bloom Of Youth (Recto), Sketch For The Soldier'S Return - Robert Burns (Verso) von John Faed wurde im Februar 2019 in der Auktion The Fine Art Society: 142 Years on New Bond Street bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 8.750,00 (€ 10.207,18) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
