Auction result misses estimated price range
In April 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Grandfather Describing the Battle of Blenheim to his Grandchildren by John Faed for USD 5,760.00 (€ 4,216.69). This price was achieved in the auction The House Sale at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 6,000.00 – 8,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Faed achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boyhood, 1849 in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 237,650.00 (€ 346,961.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im April 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Grandfather Describing the Battle of Blenheim to his Grandchildren von John Faed für USD 5.760,00 (€ 4.216,69) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion The House Sale bei Christies in New York erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von USD 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Faed erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Boyhood, 1849 im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 237.650,00 (€ 346.961,50).
