Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2004 Christies in London held the auction The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, which included the work Bazaar at Cairo, Bedouins buying armour by John Faed. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,107.00 (€ 4,471.83) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Faed achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Boyhood, 1849 in February 2003 with an auction result of GBP 237,650.00 (€ 346,961.50).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion The Scottish Sale at The Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh durch, in der auch die Arbeit Bazaar at Cairo, Bedouins buying armour von John Faed zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.107,00 (€ 4.471,83) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Faed erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Boyhood, 1849 im Februar 2003 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 237.650,00 (€ 346.961,50).
