Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The queen of the shore by John Dawson Watson was sold in the BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction at Christies in London in May 2001. The price achieved of GBP 411.25 (€ 689.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 300.00 – 500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Dawson Watson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fireside Thoughts in March 2008 with an auction result of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,066.40).
