Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Green & Pleasant Land. Manchester: Cornerhouse, 1987. by John Davies was sold in the Photobooks auction at Christies in London in May 2009. The price achieved of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,715.98) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. Admittedly, works by John Davies have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Brown Painted Head in July 2008 with an auction result of GBP 6,250.00 (€ 7,940.70).

Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.500,00 (€ 1.715,98) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.200,00 – 1.800,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Davies auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Brown Painted Head im Juli 2008 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 6.250,00 (€ 7.940,70).
