The »bidding war« ended at GBP 2,805.00 (€ 3,293.33), 56% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Cyril Harrison - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Ptarmigan in mid plumage, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,335.36).

Die Arbeit Grouse low over the rocks; Blackneck pheasants, a pair von John Cyril Harrison wurde im November 2021 in der Auktion British and European Art, including works from L'École de Paris, The Jewish Artists bei Bonhams in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 2.805,00 (€ 3.293,33) und damit 56% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von John Cyril Harrison mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Ptarmigan in mid plumage beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.335,36) versteigert wurde.
