Artwork auctioned at four times the upper estimate price
The work Cloud Study by John Constable was worth GBP 730,800.00 (€ 848,981.72) to a buyer in June last year. This price was achieved in the auction British Art: The Jubilee Auction at Sothebys in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 150,000.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Constable achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View on the Stour near Dedham, full-scale sketch in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 14,082,500.00 (€ 16,903,595.45).

Die Arbeit Cloud Study von John Constable war einem Käufer im Juni letzten Jahres GBP 730.800,00 (€ 848.981,72) wert. Dieser Preise wurde in der Auktion British Art: The Jubilee Auction bei Sothebys in London erzielt und übertraf den zuvor angesetzten oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 150.000,00 um ein Vielfaches.
