This artwork by John Constable achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in January 2024. In the Old Master Paintings and Sculpture: Part II auction, the work Old Hall, East Bergholt sold for USD 264,600.00 (€ 231,253.28) - well above the upper estimate of USD 120,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Constable achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View on the Stour near Dedham, full-scale sketch in June 2016 with an auction result of GBP 14,082,500.00 (€ 16,903,595.45).
Oberer Schätzpreis um mehr als 100% übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Constable erzielte im Januar 2024 bei Christies in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Old Master Paintings and Sculpture: Part II wurde die Arbeit Old Hall, East Bergholt für USD 264.600,00 (€ 231.253,28) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 120.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Constable erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View on the Stour near Dedham, full-scale sketch im Juni 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 14.082.500,00 (€ 16.903.595,45).
