The »bidding war« ended at GBP 720.00 (€ 1,031.63), 44% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Cleveley the Younger achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Views In The South Seas (4) in September 2004 with an auction result of GBP 318,850.00 (€ 464,524.16).
