Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by John Christian Schetky could be acquired at Christies in London in May 2000 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Maritime auction, the work The Guillaume Tell in action with H.M.S. Penelope, with H.M.S. Lion to starboard and H.M.S. Foudroyant coming up astern to join the fray, 31st March 1800 changed hands for GBP 29,375.00 (€ 47,136.04) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Christian Schetky - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lord Belfast's yacht Emily hove-to for her owner to come aboard, off the Belem Tower, at the mouth of the Tagus, Lisbon, which sold at auction in October 2007 for GBP 96,500.00 (€ 138,580.35).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Christian Schetky konnte im Mai 2000 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Maritime wechselte die Arbeit The Guillaume Tell in action with H.M.S. Penelope, with H.M.S. Lion to starboard and H.M.S. Foudroyant coming up astern to join the fray, 31st March 1800 für GBP 29.375,00 (€ 47.136,04) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von John Christian Schetky mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lord Belfast's yacht Emily hove-to for her owner to come aboard, off the Belem Tower, at the mouth of the Tagus, Lisbon beobachtet, die im Oktober 2007 für GBP 96.500,00 (€ 138.580,35) versteigert wurde.
