Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2008 a collector was able to acquire the work H.M.S Victory And Other Ships In Portsmouth Dockyard by John Christian Schetky for GBP 813.00 (€ 982.98). This price was achieved in the auction A GREAT BRITISH COLLECTION: The pictures collected by Sir David and Lady Scott, sold to benefit the Finnis Scott Foundation at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Christian Schetky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lord Belfast's yacht Emily hove-to for her owner to come aboard, off the Belem Tower, at the mouth of the Tagus, Lisbon in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 96,500.00 (€ 138,580.35).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lord Belfast's yacht Emily hove-to for her owner to come aboard, off the Belem Tower, at the mouth of the Tagus, Lisbon im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 96.500,00 (€ 138.580,35).
