Upper estimate price exceeded by 49 %.
The work Squall off the Dutch coast by John Christian Schetky was auctioned at Christies in New York in June 2004. It achieved a price of USD 8,962.50 (€ 7,358.98), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 49%. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Christian Schetky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lord Belfast's yacht Emily hove-to for her owner to come aboard, off the Belem Tower, at the mouth of the Tagus, Lisbon in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 96,500.00 (€ 138,580.35).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lord Belfast's yacht Emily hove-to for her owner to come aboard, off the Belem Tower, at the mouth of the Tagus, Lisbon im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 96.500,00 (€ 138.580,35).
