This artwork by John Christian Schetky achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2000. In the Maritime auction, the work A Squadron of the fleet off Malaga sold for GBP 7,050.00 (€ 11,312.65) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Christian Schetky achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Lord Belfast's yacht Emily hove-to for her owner to come aboard, off the Belem Tower, at the mouth of the Tagus, Lisbon in October 2007 with an auction result of GBP 96,500.00 (€ 138,580.35).

In der Auktion Maritime wurde die Arbeit A Squadron of the fleet off Malaga für GBP 7.050,00 (€ 11.312,65) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Christian Schetky erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Lord Belfast's yacht Emily hove-to for her owner to come aboard, off the Belem Tower, at the mouth of the Tagus, Lisbon im Oktober 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 96.500,00 (€ 138.580,35).
