Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2000 Christies in New York held the auction SPORTING ART, which included the work Indomitable by John Charlton. The price achieved of USD 23,500.00 (€ 25,031.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by John Charlton - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work 'God save the Queen': Queen Victoria arriving at St Paul's Cathedral on the Occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Thanksgiving Service, 22 June 1897, which sold at auction in July 2013 for GBP 55,875.00 (€ 63,846.93).

Im Dezember 2000 führte Christies in New York die Auktion SPORTING ART durch, in der auch die Arbeit Indomitable von John Charlton zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 23.500,00 (€ 25.031,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden.
