Auction result misses estimated price range
In May 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Hounds with Trainer and Master in the Kennel by John Charlton for USD 9,560.00 (€ 10,236.64). This price was achieved in the auction Sporting Art at Christies in New York and was even below the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by John Charlton have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work 'God save the Queen': Queen Victoria arriving at St Paul's Cathedral on the Occasion of the Diamond Jubilee Thanksgiving Service, 22 June 1897 in July 2013 with an auction result of GBP 55,875.00 (€ 63,846.93).
