This price was achieved in the auction Outside In: The Dr. Jeffrey Sherwin Collection at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 8,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by John Cecil Stephenson; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Bright Triangles sold at auction in November 2019 with the realized price of GBP 47,500.00 (€ 55,776.61).
