This artwork by John Bentham-Dinsdale achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in May 2010. In the Maritime Art auction, the work The East Indiaman Waterloo, a frigate and deep water junks lying at anchor (illustrated); and Tea clippers neck and neck sold for GBP 1,625.00 (€ 1,903.91) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 700.00. Admittedly, works by John Bentham-Dinsdale have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work H.M.S. Crescent, under the command of Captain James Saumarez, capturing the French frigate Réunion off Cherbourg, 20 October 1793 in March 2017 with an auction result of GBP 8,125.00 (€ 9,521.70).

In der Auktion Maritime Art wurde die Arbeit The East Indiaman Waterloo, a frigate and deep water junks lying at anchor (illustrated); and Tea clippers neck and neck für GBP 1.625,00 (€ 1.903,91) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 700,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Bentham-Dinsdale auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit H.M.S.
