'The first shot'
signed 'John Bentham-Dinsdale' (lower left); further signed, titled and inscribed '12 th April 1854 the British vessel Fury captured a Russian Schooner but was driven off by a superior Russian force of frigates & Brigs. They were the first shot fired in the Crimean War.' (on the reverse)
