This artwork by John Armstrong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in June 2015. In the Posters auction, the work THEATRE-GOERS USE SHELL sold for GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,996.22) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Armstrong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Initial Study For The Poster 'Can Spring Be Far Behind' in April 2014 with an auction result of GBP 74,500.00 (€ 90,683.74).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 77 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von John Armstrong erzielte im Juni 2015 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Posters wurde die Arbeit THEATRE-GOERS USE SHELL für GBP 2.125,00 (€ 2.996,22) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 1.200,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Armstrong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Initial Study For The Poster 'Can Spring Be Far Behind' im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.500,00 (€ 90.683,74).
