This artwork by John Armstrong achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in Los Angeles in July this year. In the Modern British and Irish Art auction, the work Balloons sold for GBP 5,760.00 (€ 6,720.17) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 3,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Armstrong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Initial Study For The Poster 'Can Spring Be Far Behind' in April 2014 with an auction result of GBP 74,500.00 (€ 90,683.74).

Dieses Kunstwerk von John Armstrong erzielte im Juli diesen Jahres bei Bonhams in Los Angeles einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Modern British and Irish Art wurde die Arbeit Balloons für GBP 5.760,00 (€ 6.720,17) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 3.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von John Armstrong erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Initial Study For The Poster 'Can Spring Be Far Behind' im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 74.500,00 (€ 90.683,74).
