Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work Figures in a Landscape by John Armstrong was worth GBP 5,120.00 (€ 5,973.49) to a buyer in July this year. This price was achieved in the auction Modern British and Irish Art at Bonhams in Los Angeles and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 1,500.00 many times over. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Armstrong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Initial Study For The Poster 'Can Spring Be Far Behind' in April 2014 with an auction result of GBP 74,500.00 (€ 90,683.74).
