Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life With Pears, Apple And Squash by John Armstrong was sold in the Modern & Post-War British Art auction at Sothebys in London in May 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,250.00 (€ 5,295.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by John Armstrong achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Initial Study For The Poster 'Can Spring Be Far Behind' in April 2014 with an auction result of GBP 74,500.00 (€ 90,683.74).
