In January 2005 Christies in New York held the auction THE HOUSE SALE, which included this untitled work by John Alexander. The »bidding war« ended at USD 9,000.00 (€ 6,897.08), 50% above the upper estimate. Admittedly, works by John Alexander have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Good Fences Make Good Neighbors in October 2018 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 52,947.41).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Januar 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion THE HOUSE SALE durch, in der auch diese Arbeit ohne Titel von John Alexander zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 9.000,00 (€ 6.897,08) und damit 50% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von John Alexander auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Good Fences Make Good Neighbors im Oktober 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 60.000,00 (€ 52.947,41).
